Is the biome map accurate to my actual world?

Accepted Answer

Yes for surface biomes. It reimplements Minecraft Java 1.18+ multi-noise generation (the same Xoroshiro RNG, noise octaves, and climate parameters) for the current release, so the biome layout matches a real Java world. Cave-only biomes (like the deep dark) aren’t drawn on a top-down surface map.

Which structures does it show?

Villages, pillager outposts, desert and jungle temples, witch huts, igloos, ocean monuments, ocean ruins, shipwrecks, buried treasure, woodland mansions, ruined portals, trail ruins, trial chambers, and all 128 strongholds — each computed from your seed with a biome-validity check, plus the world spawn. Toggle layers on or off, and use “Near me” to list everything around your view sorted by distance.

Can I search for a seed that has what I want?

Yes — that’s the companion Seed Lab tool. It searches seeds for you by structure proximity to spawn. Seed Map shows one seed; Seed Lab finds seeds.

Does it work for any seed?

Accepted Answer

Enter a number for a numeric seed, or any text — text seeds are hashed exactly like Minecraft does. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

What are slime chunks?

Accepted Answer

Chunks where slimes spawn underground regardless of biome. Toggle the slime overlay and zoom in to see which 16×16 chunks qualify for your seed — handy for planning slime farms.

Question 6

Is this Java or Bedrock?

Java Edition. Bedrock uses a different generator and is not supported.
